Fees and Policies

MEMBERSHIP TYPE

At GSTC, families choose a tuition payment plan to suit their lifestyle.

  • Diamond Membership families pay tuition in 1 installment due upon registration.  The $35 Registration Fee is waived for Diamond family members.
  • Ruby Membership families pay tuition in 2 installments.  Installment #1 is due upon registration.  Installment #2 is due in January.  Ruby members pay a discounted $25 family registration fee.
  • Sapphire Membership families pay tuition in 4 installments.  Installment #1 is due upon registration.  Installments #2, #3 and #4 are due in October, January and March.  The family Registration Fee is $35.
  • Pearl Membership is reserved for current Performing Troupe member families who pay tuition in 10 installments.  There is no Registration Fee for troupe families.
  • Summer Term students pay tuition in one installment.  There is no Registration Fee for Summer Term.
  • Students who register after the beginning of the Academic term (after August 14) will be charged the regular $35 Registration Fee regardless of the payment plan selected.

ADDITIONAL FEES

  • $25 Fee for any returned check
  • $60 Costume Fee for students in the Pre-K Division
  • $70 Costume Fee for students in the Elementary, Teen & Pre-Professional Divisions
  • $40 Student Production Fee (p/family)
  • $10 Late Fee for any tuition installment not paid by the 10th of the month

FORMS OF PAYMENT

  • GSTC accepts cash, check, MasterCard and Visa.
  • Payments can be dropped in the Payment Box at the front desk.
  • MasterCard and Visa payments can be made online through the myGSTC! portal.
  • Credit Card AutoPay can be set up through Online Registration or at the desk.

PAYMENT REFUNDS

  • GSTC does not offer refunds for missed classes.  Missed classes can be made up in another class.  Registration, Production and Costume Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Tuition refunds are on a case-by-case basis.  If a tuition refund is granted, a $35 processing fee will apply.

COMMUNICATION

  • Our website is a terrific source for information. Check often for updates at Studio News.
  • E-mail is used to update families with new information and inform them of any last-minute change.  This is also a great form of communication for parents wanting to Contact Us for any reason.
  • Quarterly newsletters are distributed via e-mail. Additional information and announcements will be published throughout the year on the website, facebook, twitter and instagram and on the InfoBoard in the front lobby of the school.

ENROLLMENT

  • Classes are subject to closure or cancellation depending on enrollment.
  • If fewer than five students are enrolled in any one class, G. Scotten Talent Center reserves the right to charge the appropriate private, duet or trio/foursome price.
  • A waiting list will be available for students interested in a special class or one that is already full. Students on a waiting list will be contacted by phone if a desired class opens up.
  • Pre-K, Elementary and Intermediate classes typically have one or two class assistants.
  • Recommended class size is as follows: (Class sizes vary at instructor’s discretion.)
    • Pre-K, 8-12 students
    • Elementary, 12-14 students
    • Teen, 14-16 students
    • Advanced, 16-24 students

MAKE-UP CLASSES

  • If a student misses a class, he/she can make it up in another class of the same type and comparable age and skill level any time during the current term. Staff will advise on appropriate times for make-ups.
  • Parents and Students are encouraged to be prompt to all classes. If a student is late to class, quietly enter the classroom and wait near the door until the instructor invites you to join the class.

PARENT OBSERVATION

  • Observation windows are provided and window blinds are generally open for viewing. Individual instructors may open/close the blinds at their discretion. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend and observe classes during specific in-class Observation Weeks. Observation Weeks for 2015-16 Academic Term are:
    • October 23-26, 2017
    • December 13-19, 2017
    • March 5-8, 2018

WITHDRAWAL FROM CLASS

  • In the event you need to withdraw from classes, you must submit a Withdrawal Form to GSTC in order to close your account. Accounts will remain active and be charged tuition fees until a Withdrawal Form is received.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

  • G. Scotten Talent Center follows Hamilton Southeastern Schools when school is delayed or canceled. However, students are encouraged to check the website or call the studio to verify a class or to confirm its cancellation after 1 p.m.
  • Classes canceled due to weather or other circumstance can be made up in another class of the same type and comparable age and skill level any time during the current term. Additional dates will not be added as make-up lessons.

PARKING

  • Parking in front of the studio in the spaces indicated and in the gravel area south of the paved lot is acceptable.
  • Do not park in the driving lane for arrivals or pickups. Parents may pause at the door to drop off or pick up children and continue around to exit. Thank you for your cooperation.
